Revell Messerschmitt Bf109 Messerschmitt Bf (Me) 109, World War II German fighter plane! Designed by Willy Messerschmitt in the 1930s. The Messerschmitt 109 was the most advanced single-seat fighter of its time, having first flown in May 1935 as the prototype Bf 109 V1. The Jumo-engined "B-1", production of which began in February 1937, entered service with the Luftwaffe. The Jumo 210 engine was also used in the "B", "C" and "D" models. The Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine was used in the Bf 109 E model, which remained in production from January 1939 to early 1942. Production of the "G" model began in May 1942.
